Why choose HYGGE floral design

Hygge floral design was born from a love of fresh florals and a desire to preserve their beauty and provide them with a longer life.

I started pressing flowers using the traditional flower pressing method, drying out the blooms between paper, cardboard and wood until all the moisture has been extracted. Withdrawing the moisture in a controlled, slow process, helps to keep the qualities of the flowers intact.

The process is a natural one, and therefore even the most experienced preservation artist may experience some damages along the way. Damages include: mold or discoloration. In order to reduce this risk, I will choose to de-construct certain, more fleshier flowers, and then re-construct before the design stage.

There are many more elements to consider in order to achieve the best results. These include: area the presses are sorted, changing paper to reduce moisture, pressure applied on the presses, temperature and more.

After starting flower pressing in 2019, I now have over 5 years of experience, all of which helps towards my floral preservation business today.

I am open to pressing flowers from all occasions, helping to preserve memories in floral displays. If you wish to contact me for any bespoke orders, please do so via our website.
